I have the X1RCU But I can't seem to use separate flame sensors it keeps giving me random numbers even with the example program is there a firmware upgrade or something to fix this? Please Reply ASAP thanx :)

Dear Bob,    The X1RCU can control flame sensor. What does "random numbers" mean? Could you pls descrip it more? Better with pictures. We await your email at Teck@robotplayer.com.     Meanwhile, you can turn to your local distributor who sold the item to you, who will provide you local service.

Hello from Singapore! I am participating in Robocup 2010 with an RCU-based robot. I've recently purchased a be-1723 IR seeker sensor, and I'm having difficulty trying to configure it to sense the pulse modulated signals which the IR ball this year is emitting, unlike the previous years where the IR ball is emmitting a constant pulse. I would like to ask if there is anyway to configure the Roboexp program so that I can take the readings of the ball more accurately, and whether there is an inherent function in the sensor itself to allow it to filter other signals and only take the signal at 1200Hz (which is the frequency of the IR signal the ball is emmitting). I would really appreciate if I can have a reply as soon as possible, since the Robocup competition is quite near. Thank you!

Dear Kah Khang, Thanks for your support to JoinMax, and the valuable feedback. Could you leave your email? Relative solution probably come out in couple of days, which will be sent to you asap. The BE-1723 is not for sensing the new mode.

I am planning to get this Motor Driver 3508D for 4 motors but how do i control it when it only has 2 cables coming out I don't see any icon in X1RCU program that can allow the control of four motors? PLease Help ASAP thanx :)

Dear John, Thanks for your support. Driver 3508D controls four motors in two channals, in other words, you only need two motor icons in the software to control the four motors. For further questions, pls contact us at Teck@robotplayer.com.

I recently got an X1RCU the black box thingy do i still need the extra black connector for the black motor(High-power Motor 3526)? please reply ASAP thanx

Dear Jon, Thanks for using the newest RCU! You don't need a black connector. Most of our motors can be connected to the M1, M2 ports of X1RCU directly, but there is some other things to which you need to pay special attention. Motor 3526 should not be plugged to these two motor ports directly, for motor 3526 gets driver embedded, which will draw power from the RCU, in this case, it (or several motor 3526) probably will exhaust the X1RCU, which cause to the final result: all break down. It's suggested to use motor with no embedded driver for X1RCU, which will be connected to X1RCU via a driver, in this way, the motor gets power from the external power supply connected to the driver (in other words, the external power supply provides power to both motor and driver), not from the X1RCU, which means, it won't exhaust the X1RCU. Right now, motor 3526 and motor 3548X are motor with embedded driver. So you can use other motors such as motor 3509 for the X1RCU. For further information, you can refer to the motor manual in our website, or contact us at Teck@robotplayer.com.

Dear Alamoudi, For beginners, it's recommended to read this Robot Discovery first http://www.roboexp.com/download/list.asp?id=20. Other courses will be put on our site step by step. Pls keep an eye on it. Contact us at teck@robotplayer.com if you have further questions.

Hi i really need to know how to get the tangent command in roboexp v 3.5 can u give me the command or method to get the answer of tangent? I am programming in XRCU

Reply:
Dear Jon, In RoboExp 3.5, the command of "arctan" (as you're asking) is shorten to be "atan". If you're using XRCU, pls email us directly at teck@robotplayer.com, then a short example program will be provided to you for reference.
